Flying out

posted Saturday, 22 March 2008

We're on our way to sunny Florida for the week, so any blog posts will be On Location: The Villages.

The last day has been a little busy, running errands, packing suitcases, deciding what electronica goes with.  I cannot believe how much electronic stuff we are taking: digital camera, iPod, laptop.  Are we incapable of entertaining ourselves?  It appears so.  The hardest decision for me, as usual, was which books to bring.  I like to have some choice in what to read next, but I also like to have reliable old stand-bys in case the new selections don't pan out.  Here's what I brought:

plus a couple of others I can't post covers for.   I'm going to try and write a review for Spymaster's Lady this week, and maybe one for Lady Gallant, which I just finished.

If you have a minute today, say a prayer for me.  We have two flights, one layover, and a long drive once we arrive there.  We are only in the waiting area of the first airport (having not even left MI yet), and Max is already in RARE form.

Those are some good selections but I have never read or even heard of Europa, Europa and I have never been able to finish Dream Hunter by Kinsale after trying three times. I think I will try again. Loved The Serpent;s Tale, would love for you to review that and Driven (in my TBR pile as we speak but I will be reading it soon).

Keishon - I saw Europa, Europa as a movie years ago and picked this on up from a pile of weeded books at the library. It's about a Jewish boy who first flees the Third Reich into Russia and then has to pose as a German when he's captured.

As for The Dream Hunter, I've always liked the second half best. The desert part is what interests people, but I like the later stuff, the messy emotional stuff, best.

I have finished Driven now and will post a review soon.
