"My lips are lonely for your face."

Max has been going through a bit of a kissing phase these past few days. It's very nice. He hasn't been real free with the affection since last summer when he wanted to plop down in my lap all the time when we were in the backyard.

I'll take it. Especially as he's really pushing the boundaries these days. Some days I really feel like Enforcer Mommy all the time. This morning I had to ride herd on him all through breakfast (he wants to eat on the move and not sit at the table) and then when we went grocery shopping. And then again at lunch. Then tonight on our walk. Then right before bed when we were picking up toys. In fact, tomorrow he will have only half of his cars to play with because he refused to pick some of them up or dawdled past counting to 20. 2 is all about consequences. I recently read how this whole establishment and acceptance of boundaries is actually the second stage of the attachment process. I didn't know that. I thought it was all about "cry/response" and building trust. But I suppose accepting boundaries is another facet of building trust.

Off topic:  today I got one of my favorite things from Meijer: a coke slushie.  I've been making them by hand all summer, freezing and crushing the coke myself.  I thought this was only the cheaper, half-measure, but today I found that I actually like my version better.  It's got more crunch and more texture.  So, here's to the cheap method!!
