Well, it's official - Garage Sale Season is here.
I went to 8 or 9 of them this week and found some bargains: a Leap Frog toy for A2's birthday, a very nice spring coat for J. (it's reversible MacGear) for $1, a sweater for J., some lamp oil for the new kerosene lamp I inherited from Aunt S., a pair of black gloves to replace the ones I lost last winter, a very soft yellow fleece blanket, a church outfit for Max for when he's a little older, and an 8X10 dark cherry frame.
I spent $11.50 total.
V. made out big time, though. She found a whole box full of Polly Pocket stuff for A2.

A2 has a little Disney Jasmine doll with Polly Pocket-like outfits and stuff and absolutely LOVES it. She sleeps with Jasmine every night (and about two or three other little toys including an Invisible Woman action figure). V. had
just gotten done telling me in detail what exactly A2 wanted in terms of PP stuff, and then we walked down the block to some garage sales and found the Mother Lode - Polly Pocket heaven. Apparently, the girl of the house had a whole village of PP that, when put together, was about 12 feet in length. And all of it comes with accessories. New, this stuff cost well over $150.
We paid $15.
It is just amazing what you can pick up at garage sales and thrift stores. If you're enterprising and patient enough, you could probably find anything and furnish any need.
