I finished this one last night, just in time for her birthday. I used satin and fleece for some of the squares, neither of which is good for a quilt in the long term (and as you can see, the satin pulled when I quilted it). But since Aunt Sharon is almost blind and can really only see color, I wanted her to be able to feel the quilt as an extra layer of experience. Considering how terribly quickly her health is degenerating, the "heirloom quilt" factor wasn't a primary consideration here. I just hope she enjoys it and it brings some color and comfort into her life.

And I did this little one for Tunie with the scraps.
As I was making it, I kept asking Max if it was big enough yet. Each time he would solemnly take it over to Tunie and ask, "Big 'nuff yet, Nya-nie?"
Silence.
Then he would say, "Little bit bigger, Mommy."
Until Tunie was, apparently satisfied with its size. "Nya-nie say, 'Big nuff now,' Mommy!"
